Story Mode is a mode in Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures that includes cutscenes and preset characters, as opposed to Free Play which doesn't include cutscenes or preset characters. If you have not beaten a certain level, you are forced to play that level in Story Mode.
In Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, you have to play the first level in Story mode.
